University of Tokyo 

The University of Tokyo offers a program known as the Global Science Course (GSC) for students who are studying in the Faculty of Science. This is a transfer program for students who are currently studying in universities abroad who wish to have a chance to study at the University of Tokyo. Prospective students must have completed basic chemistry, mathematics, biology, and physics related subjects in the first and second year of their undergraduate studies at their initial university before applying to the GSC.  In addition, prospective students must have gained a minimum of 62 credits corresponding to the University of Tokyo credit system.

There is no interview.

English requirements:

– TOEFL iBT – 80

– TOEFL PBT – 550

– IELTS Academic – 6.5

– Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) – Grade C

The application fee: JPY 10,432 and only payment by credit card is accepted

Tuition:  (exemptions applly only for those with unavoidable circumstances (deaths in the family, natural disasters, etc.))

Admission fee: JPY 282,000

Annual tuition fee: JPY 535,800

Just like the other two programs, this program provides housing as well. Listed below are the options:

– The University of Tokyo International Lodge (dormitories/shared houses)

– Private accommodation rental fees to be paid by the University of Tokyo (within reason), however utility bills are not included.

No scholarships will be provided.
